Café Team Member (Casual)
to include Weekends and Bank Holidays (April to September 2026)

Manvers Lake is a visitor attraction, benefitting from a boathouse, outdoor seating area with benches and indoor café area, both overlooking Manvers Lake. 

 

We are looking for a Café Team Member to join our team, where a friendly, fast-paced environment awaits. With a passion for providing excellent customer service, a proactive can-do attitude, and great collaboration skills, you’ll help keep everyday café operations running smoothly.

You would be joining us at a very exciting time as we expand into a new café offer which will incorporate an 50 seater indoor area with integrated servery and kitchen alongside an improved outdoor seating area and a ‘grab and go’ kiosk offer. Our opening times will be expanded so once open there will be opportunities for additional hours, including early morning and evenings.

Putting the needs of our lake visitors and cafe customers is at the heart of all we do. Your role is to help support and deliver this mission. 

​

We are looking for experienced catering staff to work in our busy lakeside café.

  • Salary Meets National Minimum Wage.

  • Must be available to work most weekends and bank holidays.

  • Additional hours required to cover school holidays, staff holidays and events.

  • Minimum 8 hour per week contract.

  • Immediate start available.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Welcoming and serving the café customers.

  • Operating a cash register and processing credit card transactions.

  • Making hot drinks, using a standard drinks machine and barista type coffee machine.

  • Stock rotation and replenishment.

  • Basic preparation of hot and cold food.

  • Sale of alcoholic drinks (Age restrictions apply).

  • Setting up and clearing away tables, chairs and equipment.

  • Cleaning of the catering area and areas used by the café customers.

  • Washing dishes, cutlery, containers, etc.

 

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Previous catering experience.

  • Level 2 Food Hygiene Qualification.

  • An awareness of health and safety in the kitchen.

  • Awareness of Food Allergies.

  • Ability to communicate well with customers in a helpful and friendly manner.

  • Ability to work well in a small team and on own initiative.

  • Ability to work under pressure in a busy environment.

  • Ability to adapt to change and take on different tasks as and when required.

  • Willingness to any attend any training courses relevant to the needs of the business and role.

 

This role is subject to the applicant's eligibility to work in the UK and the post is subject to a DBS check.
