Café Operative

Job Description

 

Location: Manvers Lake, Wath-upon-Dearne

Hours:  Zero Hours Contract

Term: Seasonal

Reporting to: Cafe Manager

Salary: Meets National Minimum Wage.

 

We are looking for experienced casual catering staff to work in our busy lakeside café.

  • Salary Meets National Minimum Wage

  • Working hours between 0800 and 1630

  • Must be available to work weekends and bank holidays.

  • Additional hours required to cover school holidays and staff holidays.

  • Maximum 35 hours per week

  • Immediate start available

Main Responsibilities :

  • Welcoming and serving the café customers.

  • Operating a cash register and processing credit card transactions.

  • Making hot drinks, using a coffee machine.

  • Stock rotation and replenishment.

  • Basic preparation of hot and cold food.

  • Sale of alcoholic drinks.

  • Setting up and clearing away tables, chairs and equipment.

  • Cleaning of the catering area and areas used by the café customers.

  • Washing dishes, cutlery, containers, etc

The ideal candidate will have :

  • Previous catering experience in a similar environment.

  • Level 2 Food Hygiene Qualification.

  • An awareness of health, safety, and security in the kitchen.

  • Awareness of Food Allergies.

  • Ability to communicate well with customers in a helpful and friendly manner.

  • Ability to work well in a small team and on own initiative.

  • Ability to adapt to change and take on different tasks as and when required.

  • Willingness to attend any training courses relevant to the needs of the business and role.

This role is subject to the applicant's eligibility to work in the UK. These will be completed during the 4-week trial period for successful candidates.
